Front Parlor Open Mic Storytelling -
Theme: Community
The fact that the Front Parlor Series has been going strong for more than a decade is a testament, above all, to community. Our little band of storytellers continues to exist thanks to the volunteers who organize it, yes, but mostly because of the incredible humans who come and share in the magic of storytelling every month.
This June, we’ve got more than a few reasons to celebrate that community: We’re entering our next era, in a new home and with an ever-larger tribe of storytellers. Plus, it’s Pride Month, a time to honor the community of LGBTQ+ people who help make Troy as beautiful as it is.
So, come and tell us your stories of community. When has a community supported you through a tough time, or helped you achieve new heights? Or, when have you found yourself on the outs of a community that once felt like home?
It’s no simple thing keeping a group of humans marching along together. Come spill the tea about the mess and joy and strife and beauty of this thing we call “community.”
Good to know:
* Sign-ups to share a story start at 7:15 and show at 7:30!
* Stories told in about 5 minutes or less.
* No notes or props.
