Community Classroom: An Insider's Guide to Advocacy and Queer Policy

  • The Flour Bender 15 2nd Street Troy, NY, 12180 United States (map)

With our national government increasingly hostile—and at times directly targeting our community—there’s no better time to get involved in advocacy.

But where do you begin? What does queer policy even look like? What protections exist here in New York, and what threats are we facing at the national level? How does an idea actually become law?

Join us for our first Community Classroom event: An Insider’s Guide to Advocacy & Queer Policy

Hosted by Meagon Nolasco—Collar City Pride founder, master-level social worker, and current NYS staffer focusing on LGBTQ+ and Reproductive Rights policy. Meagon will break down how legislation works, share insights from inside the Capitol, and offer actionable steps for getting involved.

Space is limited! Donations are suggested, but no one will be turned away for lack of funds.

Drinks and snacks are available for purchase from our friends at The Flour Bender.

Do you have a policy or advocacy question you’d like addressed? Leave a note at registration so we can cover this!
