Community Classroom: An Insider's Guide to Advocacy and Queer Policy

As attacks on the LGBTQIA2+ community intensify, it's crucial for us to arm ourselves with knowledge. Join us for our first Community Classroom event, where local queer folks with expertise will share valuable insights!

Event Details:

πŸ“… Thursday, June 26th | πŸ•– 7:00 PM

πŸ“ The Flour Bender Bakeshop, Downtown Troy

Enjoy drinks and snacks available for purchase. Our first topic, An Insider’s Guide to Advocacy & Queer Policy, will cover the state policy process, current LGBTQIA2+ protections in New York, and how we can advocate effectively for change.

The session will be led by Meagon Nolasco, founder of Collar City Pride, master-level social worker, and current New York State Senate staff member. Meagon brings firsthand experience in both advocating for LGBTQIA2+ policy and working inside the legislative process.

This event is free, but space is limited, so arrive early! Donations to Collar City Pride are encouraged to support their community-building and harm reduction efforts in Rensselaer County.
