Wandering Queer Collective gathers for their Inaugural monthly movement meeting!
Join us Saturday, October 24th at 10 am at Peebles Island State Park for our first outdoor event. We will be meeting in the parking lot near the island trailheads (look for the Pride flag!) and will be taking off promptly at 10 am.
Peebles Island State Park Perimeter Trail is a 2.3-mile hike with an elevation difference of 90 feet. The beautiful island trail has great views of the Mohawk River, birds, and more. The park remains quiet except for the waterfall from the dam. There is some uneven terrain, but otherwise it is marked as an "easy" trail. Please note this trail would not be accessible for those using mobility devices (outside of a cane or walking stick)
You will be guided by Environmental Educator Natalie Santini (she/her). Natalie has been an environmental educator for NY State Parks for the last 4 years. She has plenty of experience hiking (over 130 miles this year!) Her favorite outdoor activities are birding, kayaking, hiking, and looking for cool bugs and plants. Her goal is to bring the community together for a peaceful respite in an otherwise overstimulating life.
